The Cocos2d-x game engine

Cocos2d-x is a cross platform game engine that allows us to write code that can run on Linux, Mac OSX, iOS, Android, Windows and other platforms. Games made with Cocos2d-x can be written in C++,  Lua or Javascript.

Cocos2d-x is a popular game engine that has been used to build professional games such as the award wining game Badland.

Cocos2d-x allows developers to create their master pieces on Windows, Mac and Linux development environments. There are a number of development tools that can be used on any platform such as Visual Studio on Windows, Xcode on Mac and Eclipse on Linux.

I have started a series of blog posts that describe how to setup the development environment and explain the development workflow and APIs of the Cocos2d-x game engine.

Here is the list of post that I have made so far:

  1. Cocos2d-x setup and installation on Linux
  2. Cocos2d-x setup and installation on Mac and Windows

More coming soon…
